Thermal mass flow meters have an upper hand when measuring biogas application as it does not required any pressure and temperature compensation. Bio gas flow mostly has low velocities. The thermal mass flow meter also has extremely good performance on low-velocity sensitivity while other flow meters do not accurately measure low flow rates. Bio gas is often dirty which lead to maintenance flow meters. It can be easily removed for cleaning of the probe at the periodic period. The thermal mass flow meter provides many advantages over other measurement technologies.
